CAN I GO UPSTAIRS TO SEE THE JAIL CELLS?

No. The owner of the building has prohibited the GENERAL PUBLIC any access to the jail cells. This is the considered choice of the building owner BOD. See AFTER-HOURS PARANORMAL EXPERIENCE and AFTER-HOURS PARANORMAL PRESENTATION.

HAS THE BUILDING BEEN INVESTIGATED BY PARANORMAL TEAMS?
Yes.  Several teams have been given private access to explore the building for several hours or for overnight. These teams are also invited to participate with our After-Hours Paranormal Presentations given for public audiences. In exchange for being a presenter, we may share a portion of ticket proceeds or exchange investigation time with teams who present during these events.

I AM IN A PARANORMAL TEAM. CAN I INVESTIGATE THE COMPLETE BUILDING?

Can you provide us with examples of your investigations, including images, video, or audio to show the tone and tools you use? If we like your style, we can talk. We are very protective of this building, the cafe's energy, and our unseen residents. Access to the crawl space below the building will not ever be allowed.
If you just want to look around
 in the cells because it's cool, then you fall into the category of GENERAL PUBLIC. General Public, see CAN I GO UPSTAIRS TO SEE THE JAIL CELLS?.

WHAT IS AN AFTER-HOURS PARANORMAL EXPERIENCE FOR GENERAL PUBLIC?

Want to have a private after-hours investigation on the first floor?  Our house spirits are very active downstairs too.  While only vetted paranormal teams may be permitted to investigate upstairs, the GENERAL PUBLIC can rent the first floor for an after-hours event.  One of our staff will guide your evening with detailed past haunting stories and assist you to create your own experiences in the deep dark hours.
(1) Spirit interaction not guaranteed.  They don't perform on demand.
(2) Waivers required.

(3) Participants must be 18 and up.  ID required.
(4) The following are NOT permitted; Ouiji board, seance, black candle, summoning, any activity with dark intentions. You will be removed from the building with no refund.
(5) No entrance permitted to the 2nd floor or under the building.
(6) Additional fees for peak dates or hours.

     > $28/person for 1 hour;

     > $50/person for 4 hours;

     > $75/person for 8 hours;

        Includes a crafted beverage up to $6 value and a cookie. Min 3 people,

        Max 10 people; for the best experience, we suggest limiting the group

        to no more than 8 people. You may bring your own equipment or

        borrow from our limited supply.

WHAT IS THE AFTER-HOURS PARANORMAL PRESENTATION?

This is the closest opportunity that any person of the general public will have to experience the 2nd floor jail cells. Professional paranormal teams are occasionally given private access to investigate the entire building for paranormal activity. These teams are then invited to share their experiences during special After-Hours Presentations. The presenting team is encouraged to do a live feed from the second floor to the first floor as part of the presentation.

WILL WE GO INTO THE 2ND FLOOR JAIL CELLS DURING THE AFTER-HOURS PRESENTATION?

No. The second floor is still not open to the general public, even during these events.

WHY ARE THE AFTER-HOURS PRESENTATION SO LONG?

The event is four hours long because the first hour(s) in most investigations are slow. The spirits don't perform on demand. In our experience, the house spirits watch what the living people are doing before they choose to participate, if they choose to participate. Patience is often rewarded by our house spirits.

WHAT IS THE COST FOR THE AFTER-HOURS PRESENTATION?

$30/person. Attendance limited to 18 guests per event. The ticket includes dinner at 7PM with presentation/investigation beginning as soon as possible thereafter.  Preorder tickets to guarantee admittance here.

IS THE BUILDING HAUNTED?

Yes. We experience activities on a frequent basis and have many ghost stories. It has become "normal" to us. We share some activity (though not all) in the FB post series titled "Today at the old jail". Follow us there to be the first to see when we post about new experiences.

ARE THE SPIRITS ANGRY? WILL THEY HURT ME? SHOULD I BE SCARED?
NO! There are no spirits here who cause problems. We have an agreement with the house spirits of mutual Kindness Dignity and Respect. We do not taunt or ridicule them. They do not taunt or harm us, our family, our friends or our guests. Additionally, surely, they must be bored. Consequently, as long as the house rules are followed, we invite them to overcome that boredom and participate with us day to day in the Cafe. We bring them fresh coffee on a frequent basis, maybe pour a tipple of Wild Turkey, and talk to them. In exchange, our building is filled with a peaceful feeling.

MIGHT I EXPERIENCE SOMETHING WHEN I AM THERE AS A CUSTOMER?
Yes! The house spirits don't just hang out upstairs. You can experience smaller and larger events downstairs. Some have seen mists and orbs. Many (especially women) have been touched on their back or arm, felt "airplane ear", or a tug on the ear lobe.  We call the ear tugger Wet Willie. If these, or anything that happens, make you feel uncomfortable, firmly tell them to STOP!  These are the house rules.

DO YOU KNOW WHO THE SPIRITS WERE IN LIFE?

No. We have not researched local historical records. We are too busy running a cafe. If this is your passion and wish to volunteer, we would love to collaborate with you.
However, there are many details that come to us from a variety of outside anec
dotal sources. Many of the details given to us mesh with information received from other sources. We do not publicly use specific names or circumstances that someone could research to try to give back to us as "authentic paranormal" information.

CAN I TAKE PICTURES UPSTAIRS?

The GENERAL PUBLIC is not allowed upstairs, and will not be able to take any pictures of the second floor. If you want to take a picture home with you, professional award winning photographer Cade Crippin of Photography by Cade has created a stunning series of jailhouse photos. These are available for purchase during events or directly from Cade during our business hoursWe consider Cade to be our House Photographer, displayer of art and the only photographer welcome to vend at Paranormal or Haunted Events.

However:

>If you are a member of a vetted paranormal team with whom we have scheduled access, then snap away!

>If you are not in a team, talk with us about your reason. We might be open to the idea.
>No matter what, we would love images to use on our website and other locations. Of course, you will be credited for use of any images, with links wherever possible.

SO WHERE CAN I TAKE PICTURES?
We have two photo spots on the first floor. In the front room we have a mugshot wall with laminated, customizable placards. Located in the hallway near the mugshot wall, there are two original doors: one barred, and one solid steel. You can temporarily close both doors to get a picture behind bars.

I WON'T TELL ANYONE!  IT WON'T HURT ANYTHING, JUST TAKE ME UPSTAIRS.
No. We will not accommodate your request. If we let you upstairs, we are endangering our lease. Please understand when we say no; we also wish it were different. It isn't.
