HAUNTED HUNTSVILLE WALKING TOUR FAQ

WHAT IS THE HAUNTED HUNTSVILLE WALKING TOUR?

It is an evening guided walk of the Huntsville Downtown Square. Our guide, Rodney Williams, is a history buff, story teller, and an active member of Paranormal Roadtripp. Rodney has investigated many of the buildings about which you will learn. He will bring that extra spice of having truly interacted with these historical haunted sites.

WILL WE GO INSIDE THE BUILDINGS?

NO: This is an external tour on public sidewalks and cross walks on public streets. Most buildings we pass will be closed, thus we will not enter. We highly encourage you to go back and visit these sites during their regular business hours. Some are known for the experiences that customers often have.

HOWEVER: The tour will start and end at the C.A.T. Cafe Bakery located on the first floor of the historic and haunted decommissioned Walker County Jail. Here you will enjoy either a complimentary glass of wine by Maydelle Country Wines or a non-alcoholic beverage.

IS THIS A WALKING TOUR?

Yes.  Wear comfortable shoes! You will cover about a mile circuit around the town square. There are inclines and declines. Be prepared for a 60 to 90 minute event with no public restrooms during the walk.

IS THE TOUR FAMILY FRIENDLY?

The 6 PM tour MAY be altered based on the ages of children present. The 8 PM tour WILL NOT be altered for the benefit of children. All children 18 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Be sure that your child has the stamina for the walk.

WILL IT BE SCARY?

Nothing will jump out at you. However, we will be talking about spooky topics which could give you a good tingle.

WHAT IF IT RAINS?

In the case of active rain, the tour WILL be canceled. With inclines and declines, we don't want to risk slipping. If the rain has passed and the ground is still damp, we WILL NOT cancel the tour.

IT DIDN'T RAIN. WHY WAS MY TOUR CANCELLED?

Tours may also be cancelled for the following reasons: unexpected emergencies, 3 or less tickets sold 3 days before the tour, and other extreme acts of nature. We make every effort to avoid cancellations. In the event of cancellations, we will make every effort to notify you as soon as the decision is made. Refunds or credit will be given.

WILL I SEE A GHOST?

There are no guarantees that you will see a ghost. They do not perform on a schedule. However, downtown Huntsville is known to be haunted.

WHAT IF I CATCH SOMETHING IN MY PICTURES?

Be prepared to take pictures or video to see if you catch anything unusual. We would love for you to share images with us at Haunted.Huntsville.TX@gmail.com. We will load them to our gallery with credit, unless anonymity is requested.

I DON'T BELIEVE IN GHOSTS.

You don't need to believe in ghosts to enjoy this historical haunted walking tour. We respect that. There may be believers in your tour group; we ask that you please respect their enjoyment of this tour. We will give you a unique experience to remember, with stories about the long history of this old Texas town. Much has happened here. You will walk the same paths that Sam Houston and other historical figures trod.

WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE?

The walking tours will depart from the C.A.T. Cafe at 6PM and 8PM. Complimentary drinks will be served in the half hour before the tour begins. You may carry your drinks with you during the tour - we will ask you to use public trash cans when you are finished. After the tour concludes, wine bottles will be available for purchase.
