INVESTIGATIVE TEAM FAQ
I am part of a paranormal team. Can we investigate the complete building?
Yes. At time of scheduling HERE, overnight investigation teams must provide a sample of a previous investigation (i.e. images, video, audio) to Quirkybaker@catcafebakery.com. We are very protective of our building, its energy, and our ghosts.
Are all paranormal techniques and tools permitted?
We are very protective of this building, the cafe's energy, and our unseen residents. We have worked really hard to cleanse the atmosphere of this building. We don't want any negative energy invited to the building. If any of the following practices or tools are used, you will be immediately removed from the building without refund and further banned from future investigations:
- Ouija board
- Seance
- Black candles
- Summoning
- Taunting
- Using the term "Dem_n" or declaring any presence as such
- Portal creation/use
- Any activity with dark intentions
- Faking, manipulating or lying about results

What can we do to smooth acceptance with the spirits?
Suggested Gifts for the Spirits
Gifts are certainly not required; however, we have found that the spirits do respond to and enjoy receiving presents. If you wish to do so, we recommend any of following as gifts for the spirits you visit:

-Whiskey for shots for the ghosts. We strongly recommend bringing enough whiskey for 9-10 shots. Failure to bring whiskey could result in sober sulky ghosts. (You'll just think we're kidding, till you show up empty-handed.)
They prefer Wild Turkey, but our house spirits will appreciate any spirit you wish to offer. Shot glasses are available for use.

-Small individually wrapped candies for gifts to several locations. The more colorful the better. Then you can ask which color they want to elicit a response.

-Cigarettes / chewing tobacco / matches / lighters. Avoid cigars. The Guys have Kyle, the cigar patron.

-Small candy bars; old fashioned brands from the late 1970s and before are best. M&Ms plain and peanut are enjoyed in a couple of places.

-Small toys or comfort items appropriate for a 6-year-old boy. He likes apples.

-Anything that could be used for betting and gambling.

-Newspapers or magazines, especially sports related. You would make one spirit especially happy.

-Pictures / memorabilia of the great musicians from the Jazz age, rockabilly, or great guitar riffs age.

-Recordings of Jazz music, or traditional mid 1800 Mexican music to play for some particular spirits. If you play an instrument, you may get more response. Several performers have played in the cells with very interesting results.

-If you wish to do something bigger: an old guitar or sheet music is great. Gospel to Santana is all great.

-Lastly, we have learned that one of our ghosts was a Jazz Alto Sax man. If you happen to have a saxophone you would like to donate, one fella would be really happy.
Please bear in mind we are not asking for or expecting anything from listing this; it is only a consideration.
